His comment is less bizzare than WADAwatch is aware. There is always a backup flame that travels with the torch. the backup is there for cases like this and for when the torch fails or runs out of fuel.
Has anyone noticed that while there have been lots of races this year, I haven't seen any announcements of doping violations? Could it be that the entire pro peloton is now as clean as Caeser's wife? Or is Something Else Going On?
