Hue-Get Up

Hue is taking over the "play by play" while dB goes into the hearing room for the first time.

TBV types much faster than I do but I'll give it a shot.

Someone asked about how the Landis camp "monitors" the testimony in French and the answer is that Arnie Baker is a native of Quebec and is fluent in French...... keep the cards and letters coming!!!

We are about to begin at about 2:40.

Any word on who the new translator is? Did both sides agree to the new person?

How does Landis' team use the time when there are delays like this?

Bill,

Thanks for the follow up. Answer could not be better: A french speaker who also is on top of the technical side. Hope his handwriting is better than the normal Doc for notes to be passed to the attorneys!

Off-topic, but Lance Armstrong was just on "The Situation Room" on CNN talking about HPV vaccine, and was asked about Landis at the end of the interview, LA said "I believe him; I believe in him."

parisian french is different than quebecois, but i still feel better that Arnie's there. the first guy was atrocious.

kepp up the good work, bill. i have faith in your fingers!

oh -- and regarding Pem's question about asking if the witness felt there was any chance Floyd was innocent. isn't that one of the no-no questions unless you know the answer? or is that only considered such in a trial by jury?

Anybody interested, make sure you read the newest piece from Michael Hiltzik of the L.A.Times. The link is http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-landis16may16,1,7619418.story?coll=la-headlines-sports&track=crosspromo
I don't know how format that properly on this comments page, but hopefully you can cut and paste.

Hiltzik says Suh scored big in his cross examination of Brenna earlier. This kind of article helps you not get lost in the blurr of the questioning. Some say Hiltzik is biased toward Landis, but he IS a Pulitzer Prize winner and knows this case very well.
