Saturday Roundup

News
The Chattanooga Times Free Press's Wesley Rucker writes that the testing of the "B" samples at the LNDD was "the last straw" from the Landis team's perspective. In an article dated today Landis, who is said to be "confused , angry, and upset", is also quoted as saying:

I'm extremely disappointed by this adamant behavior on the part of USADA," Landis said. "Clearly that lab has motivation to get results of what they've accused me of doing all along. We thought it was perfectly reasonable to ask for another lab to do it.

"This is unexplainable by any sincere reasoning."

Dr. Arnie Baker, Landis' long time mentor and FFF trustee, was also quoted at the Town Hall held in Atlanta on April 18. Still, Travis Tygart of USADA maintains that:

"We're not out to get anyone. We're out to get the truth."
.

MSNBC writes about Jonathan Vaughter's highly drug tested Team Slipstream which was formed in the wake of last summer's Landis scandal. The team, as well as Vaughters, were interviewed this week during their participation in the Tour of Georgia.

A Cycling Life missed the opportunity to go to the Tour of Georgia, but found a better way to spend his Saturday morning. Sean rode with Floyd Landis in an event sponsored by Smith and Nephew ,the company which manufactured the device used in resurfacing Floyd's hip, and which took place in Gulf Breeze,FLA in connection with with the grand opening of a clinic there. He found Floyd to be down to earth and easy to talk to, and the ride ended much too quickly. Pictured below is Floyd with an estimated group of about 50 riders before the ride began.

Floyd seems to be riding a BMC again, now in the naked carbon.

Lori says Joe got to meet a quiet Floyd. But she doesn't say exactly where or when -- judging from her profile it might have been in Scottsdale, AZ last weekend .

JC's Adventures was lucky enough to get a press tag for her car for yesterday's stage of the Tour of Georgia. At the finish area on Brasstown Bald she saw Floyd Landis step out of a minivan and give an interview before he proceeded to the observation tower. She loved being able to take that alternate route!

Pommi is looking forward to getting his FREE FLOYD mug.

Thought for the Day

Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.
