Hoist a Glass for Floyd, Friday 5:10pm

You know it's time

This looks like a good moment to hold the "Hoist a Glass" that was suggested a little while back.

Tomorrow, at 5:10pm Local Time, we suggest you find a quantity of the libation of your choice, and offer a "cheers" to Landis for his win that at Morzine that finished at that moment.

We are advised two beverages of choice are Jack Daniels and Pabst Blue Ribbon, though you are welcome to substitute your own favorites.

When you need to drink a lot, Pabst gets the call.

  2. Count me in. Floyd and everyone who helped out, this one's for you. Anyone know any hit men/women? Just kidding. Bad joke.

  3. I'm in, too. Especially if I can find a bottle of Arrogant Bastard ... and even if I can't.

  4. My 4 year old daughter and I will be toasting...with apple juice...and watching the DVD.

    You're our hero Floyd! Always!

  5. I'm not allowed to drink alcohol but I'll drink a half bottle of water and pour the rest over my head in his honor.

Or maybe I'll drink a coke, because if he can ever get into a real court, he's going to "go apeshit on them".

“I just told ‘em, Go drink some Coke, ’cause we’re leaving on the first climb if you want to come along.’”

“Physically tough, mentally tough, he’s just one tough bitch.” — Amber Landis

    Here's to you, Floyd.

  6. Count me in...

I'll be among the last to lift a glass...I'm so far behind time-zone wise.

    Echo what Bill said....

    Aloha,
    Kate

  7. Red Stripe for me!

Major props to Floyd for fighting injustice despite impossible odds. That man needs a superhero costume. In fact, he better damn well be wearing a cape when he hits the prologue at the Tour in 2009.

  8. I read this just AFTER toasting Floyd and saying a prayer for his family. Glenlivet here. It's goodto know I'm not alone out there.
    Thanks Bill!

  9. Count me in for the beer, but I've got little sympathy for Landis. Looking forward to reading the report.

  10. Count me in. It will be the "Legend of the Kremlin" vodka that we discussed when this was proposed.

I really hope Floyd can take this to a U.S. Federal court and "go apeshit on them" as Bill said.

  13. "Remember Floyd, it's a 2 year ban from SINGLES racing, not pairs!"

Does this mean we will see Tyler Hamilton and Floyd Landis on a tandem with sequined tights and big hair?

  14. 11:10am EDT, 5:10pm Morzine time. A toast to Floyd Landis, celebrated at my work office desk with a bottle of Coke.

  15. HEY EVERYONE - IF YOU CAN SHOOT A JPEG OF YOUR TOAST, PLEASE DO SO AND SEND IT TO ME! I'LL TRY TO GET A MURAL MADE UP OR SOMETHING, maybe post them all on my Picasaweb site.

Fire off your shots, okay? Doesn't matter how good or grungy you look, just raise your glass for the man!

Spread the word! THere's going to be a run on Jack Daniel's tonight!

  16. On my bike, riding in the fog. I did the Stage 17 sardonic bottle shake, still one of my favorite moments of any Tour.

  20. I'm afraid my toast came a little late as I had to run some errands and got home later than expected.

No picture, just a silent wish that Floyd finds justice.
